Artwalk Gainesville – May 25th 2012
Starting at 7PM this Friday, the Midnight will be taking part in this installment of Artwalk Gainesville. Featuring Art from the Fourth Dimension: Putting Picture to Sound by Artist/Musician/DJ Shawn Manley. This performance combines elements with the music and sounds of his radio show, 4D Meltdown, including mixed media, video, works in oil pastel, sculpture, stereoscopic, film, and select pieces from the OMN/4D Meltdown”DrUnKeN DraWiNg” contests. The digital film portion will include videos by: J2K, Israel(formerly the Lasttt), Foreshadow, Murderfly, and more…
Also featuring work from Meghan Medina: “My work addresses the offshore oil rig as a structure that is representative of industry and corporate success, as well as destruction and violence. Rigs are isolated and solitary, yet constantly working and inconspicuously affecting the surrounding environment.”
Lifelong artist Bill Peglar will be showing his watercolor paintings and intricate pencil drawings.
If that wasn’t enough awesomeness for you. Starting at 10pm there will be music by Hannah Harber and Jesse Smith of The Jesse Smith Project. You can check out a couple of their performances here. Both of these performers have headlined the Farms to Family Music Festival.
Come out and support local artists.
